    * Clips 1-7 & "Amateurs" - Highlights of BBC/NOW/IMG "The Fastest Man On Earth" (56 minutes) aired on BBC in Europe/Australia/SE Asia, Nov 2001.  Tape currently not available.  If you're interested in it, let me know.  I'm investigating chances of distribution.

    * Preview clips of "Extreme Machines - Pedal Power" - First aired on Discovery Channel March 2000.  Tape available at the Discovery Channel Store for $19.95 US.  52 minutes.  Show covers broad history and forms of bicycles, Tour de France, downhill mountain, BMX, speedbikes...

    * Weaver's First Bike - Cutting Edge - Building/testing photos/video - Matt Weaver.  (Notice California earthquake-closed Highway 1 "test track" -  Epicenter 3 miles from home.)  International HP Speed Championships - Paul Gracey (main footage), Ernie Schimph (backside footage).  Soundtrack - "Colourform" / Higher Intelligence, from internet with permission.

    * Cutting Edge Velodrome Footage - Sheila Ancheta.  Unedited audio - Blondie music (Heart of Glass, Dreaming, Tide is High) played during race.

Other Speedbike Video Clips

70-MPH "Fly By" - (see "The Double Gold ... 2001") - Gives good feel of the speed the top bikes exceed steadily for over the final three miles of desert highway (more than half of the entire sprint distance - one fast ride!  Now imagine 80-MPH, faster?)

70-MPH Crash - (see "... Mango crash at 70-MPH") - A brush with death - not the crash itself, but the parked car that was not supposed to be there.  "Petty" neglects/errors can quickly turn into the most serious.  More than a shame to see in any event.

Junior World Record - Macky Martin hits 60.75-MPH (exceeded this speed for nearly 1/2 the course).  Note "Video bike fast-style stop" and "telescopic 'landing gear' wheel"

Junior Women's World Record / US Women's Record - Tanya Markham.  Breaks longstanding 1985 US women's record, achievement overshadowed by fantastic near-65-MPH sprints by Andrea Blaseckie of Canada and Ellen Van Der Horst (near 60-MPH

Discovery Channel Canada, 2002 - Designer Canadian Georgi Georgiev and World Record Holders Sam Whittingham and Andrea Blaseckie

Video Clip - Cutting Edge - Head-to-Head Speedbike Duel (1990) - Descriptive page on Cutting Edge break-away at Portland

World's Fastest Bicycle Race - Onboard recording of videobike "windshield" while covering 3 miles at 70-MPH.  60 minutes $6+4 US. 2000, Jeffrey James Caswell.

Video - Bill Cook Battle Mountain 2002 DVD - Interviews of top racers from UK, Canada, Germany, USA....  Timing trap fly-bys. $20. DVD.

Video - Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics Media Group.  Not yet released.  Science Program for High School / Jr High.

*** Videos not suited for direct-play except for high-bandwidth.  (files are variable-bit rate, optimized for quality/size, not streaming)

       * Download time is about 3x length of video for a typical dial-up modem.

       * Video requires about 400 MHz Pentium III or more to decode, otherwise only sound may be heard.

       * "Right-Click" links below and select SAVE to desired folder or Desktop or My Documents.

       * Run Video from Save folder or Desktop after download complete.

       * I'd love to encode the videos in other suitable formats - quicktime, Divx, etc..., but I lack the tools. I have the orig in high-res DV format.

       * Total content on this page adds up to equivalent file space of 2 or 3 MP3 songs.
